Tiger Woods fizzled out of contention Sunday at the British Open, struggling at the start of his final round and never recovering.

The event marked five years since the 2008 British Open, in which Tiger did not play due to injury and was the first in what is now a stretch of 21 majors (he's only played in 17 of them) without a victory.

It's an unprecedented stretch of woe in Tiger's career, as he had never gone more than 10 majors in between victories since capturing his first such title at the 1997 Masters.

What does that kind of agony look like for a guy once thought to be a shoo-in to break Jack Nicklaus' record for all-time major titles? Here's the visual. Click on the image to enlarge.
