EUGENE, Ore. (AP) Mariah Stackhouse won three of four holes to start the back nine and delivered a clutch approach to wrap up a 2-up victory Tuesday as defending champion Stanford knocked off South Carolina and advanced to the semifinals of the NCAA Women's golf championship.

Stackhouse, who won in a playoff last year to beat Baylor for the national title, defeated Marion Veysseyre with the matches tied at 2.

The Cardinal moved on to play a semifinal match Tuesday afternoon against Duke, which defeated USC, 4-1. Virginia Elena Carta, who won the individual title Monday by eight shots, fell 2 down after three holes to Tiffany Chan and rallied for a 3-and-2 victory.

UCLA eliminated host school Oregon, 4-0-1 at Eugene Country Club. It next played Washington, a 3-1-1 winner over Virginia.
