KAPALUA, Hawaii (AP) Jordan Spieth chipped in for eagle and ended his day with a birdie that dropped on the last turn. It gave him a 9-under 64 for a four-shot lead in the Hyundai Tournament of Champions on Friday.
The first PGA Tour event of the year feels a lot like last year. Spieth is making putts. Spieth is chipping in. And everything seems to go his way, like the putt on the final hole that left him smiling.
He was at 16-under 130, four shots clear of Kevin Kisner (65), Fabian Gomez (66) and Patrick Reed (69).

Spieth seized control with a chip-in for eagle on the par-5 ninth, and he began to pull away with three straight birdies on the back nine. Two of those birdies were inside 3 feet.
