Fellow golf legend Nick Faldo says Tiger Woods' mental domination is finished and he is potentially a weak link in the American Presidents Cup team competing in Melbourne, Australia, in two weeks' time.
Faldo, a six-time major championship winner, told GolfChannel.com Thursday that the changes and injuries Woods had endured since his most recent win, at the 2009 JBWere Masters in Melbourne, had taken their toll and he would be unlikely to challenge Jack Nicklaus' record of 18 majors.
"He's quite a sensitive guy, so to try to come out after global humiliation with the (affairs) comments, let alone the criticism, it's pretty difficult," Faldo said.
"Since he won two years ago in Australia, I don't know what is still the same in his life. Almost everything has changed, from the physical to the technical, the emotional side as well . . . so I think he's still got a lot to contend with.
"He won't have the dominance back . . . because he was a totally clear-thinking man on a mission, a rampage. Once that gets chipped away, he's not the same on the golf course."
Englishman Faldo said US ace Woods would be a target for the International team at the Presidents Cup at Royal Melbourne.
"When you're a lead man, you're a scalp, everybody wants you," he said.
"You're a feather for somebody's cap, so they go at you. If he stands up on the tee in Australia and hits a couple of drives in the trees and bushes on that course, that will give a lot of confidence to the International team, so he's under a lot of pressure."
