PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. (AP) Ben Polland shot a 4-under 68 in windy conditions Saturday for a share of the third-round lead in the PGA Assistant Championship.

Polland, a PGA assistant professional at Deepdale in Manhasset, New York, matched Brian Norman and Grant Sturgeon at 6-under 210 on PGA Golf Club's Wanamaker Course.

The wind gusted over 30 mph.

''It was really windy out there today, but I struck the ball nicely with my irons and that was key,'' Polland. ''Saturday is moving day, as they say, and with the conditions out there, if you can shoot an under-par round you can really move up the leaderboard.''

Sturgeon, a PGA Aasistant professional at Winged Foot in Mamaroneck, New York, eagled the par-5 first hole en route to a third-round 70.

''It was survival mode out there in this wind,'' Sturgeon said. ''I've been hitting the ball well for the past two to three months and that's carried over into this week.''

Norman, a PGA assistant professional at Eldorado in McKinnney, Texas, had a 71.
