Phil Mickelson delivered an awesome wedge on the Postage Stamp
Update: Phil Mickelson is your leader in the clubhouse. He kept his strong play going on the back nine, racking up three more birdies over the last five holes to finish the day at 8-under.
Royal Troon's infamous Postage Stamp hole -- No. 8 -- can be pretty tricky. Just ask Bubba Watson, who triple-bogeyed it earlier on Thursday to ruin a stellar start.
It was no problem for Phil Mickelson, though.
Lefty avoided all the potential dangers the 123-yard par-3 has to offer by lofting in an amazing wedge from the tee.

He went on to birdie the hole, just as he did every even hole through the first 10 to sit at 5-under in Thursday's first round. He shared the lead with Patrick Reed, who is already in the clubhouse, through 11 holes.
