Odds on: Who is favored to win at Pinehurst?

The U.S. Open tees off at Pinehurst No. 2 in North Carolina next week, and one of the biggest questions over the past few weeks has been answered.

Tiger Woods ended the uncertainty over his availability by withdrawing from the Open.

"Unfortunately, I won't be there because I'm not yet physically able to play competitive golf," Woods said. "I'd like to convey my regrets to the USGA leadership, the volunteers and the fans that I won't be at Pinehurst. The U.S. Open is very important to me, and I know it's going to be a great week."

Woods was listed at 20-to-1 odds at the LVH SuperBook to win the U.S. Open before his withdrawal.

This will be the second straight major he's missed as he recovers from surgery to relieve a pinched nerve in his back.

Rory McIlroy remains atop the SuperBook's oddsboard with a price of 10-to-1. He's closely followed by Adam Scott at 12-to-1 and Phil Mickelson at 15-to-1.

Mickelson's odds haven't changed following news that he's part of an insider trading investigation by the FBI and SEC, which also reportedly involves professional gambler Billy Walters and billionaire investor Carl Icahn.

Mickelson was a runner-up at the Open in Pinehurst in 1999. He needs to win the U.S. Open to become only the sixth player to capture golf's four major championships.
