Irish golfer Paul McGinley withdrew from the Hassan II Trophy on Friday citing tiredness.

McGinley, a three-time Ryder Cup winner, competed in the two-day Tavistock Cup in Florida this week and arrived in Agadir just before the European Tour event.

He carded an opening 7-over-par 79, and when he learned the second round on Friday was delayed because of strong winds - eventually for 5 1/2 hours - he informed officials he was struggling to sleep and withdrew.
