McDowell: US team will find Ryder Cup course tough

Northern Ireland golfer Graeme McDowell predicts the United States will struggle on the Celtic Manor course at the Ryder Cup.

McDowell won the Wales Open on Sunday by three strokes with a 15-under total of 269. The U.S. and Europe contest the 2010 Ryder Cup in October at the same golf resort.

McDowell, who picked up his fifth European Tour title with closing rounds of 64 and 63, said the Americans will find it tough to match such scores.

``It's very difficult to be specific when it comes to the Europeans' game versus the American game, but driving of the ball is the key around this golf course,'' McDowell said. ``And I think we are better drivers of the ball than they are.

``They play a lot more wide open resort courses than we do. I really do think that tee to green we are a better team than them.''
