Anthony Kim has become the third American to accept a late entry into next week's British Open, replacing the injured Tim Clark in the field for the year's third major.
Clark withdrew on Wednesday after the South African failed to recover from a left elbow injury that has prevented him from playing since the middle of May.
Americans Jason Dufner and Robert Garrigus have also received late entries to the Open, after the withdrawals of Tiger Woods and Thomas Levet.
Kim finished seventh in his Open debut in 2008, but failed to make the cut the following year and missed the 2010 event following thumb surgery.
