Justin Thomas shows off highly illegal way to escape Royal Troon bunkers
The world's best players will take on Royal Troon at the 145th Open Championship this week in what's sure to be yet another thrilling major. Like the other three major championships, the course won't be easy to navigate, particularly if the weather doesn't cooperate.
And those bunkers -- well, you don't want to find yourself in them. Just ask Rory McIlroy, who took six shots to escape one during Tuesday's practice round.
Perhaps he should have used Justin Thomas' less-than-legal technique.

Unfortunately, the pros won't be able to use this method come Thursday, though it does look to be highly effective. Bubba Watson had a similar way to get out of the deep rough at Oakmont ahead of the U.S. Open.
