Longtime Australian golf writer Tom Ramsey has died at 75.
He fought cancer for a decade and died Wednesday.
Tom Ramsey was News Limited newspapers' chief golf writer for more than 40 years and was inducted the Memorial Tournament's Hall of Fame in 2001 by Jack Nicklaus.
News Limited chairman John Hartigan called Ramsey a ''stubborn Northern Irishman'' who covered 141 majors. Hartigan said Ramsey was ''afraid of no one and regularly dished it out to the likes of Greg Norman despite his iconic standing in this country.''

Sydney's Daily Telegraph said Friday that Ramsey was cremated and his ashes will be spread at his favorite course, Royal County Down in Northern Ireland.
