ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) Jason Day made a 35-foot birdie putt to end a day in which just about everything went his way. He shot a 7-under 65 on Friday morning and built a five-shot lead midway through the second round of the Arnold Palmer Invitational.
With the first major of the year approaching, Day looked much more like the player who reached No. 1 in the world last year than someone who had struggled to get into contention.
Jamie Lovemark had another 68 and was five shots behind.

Rory McIlroy followed his 75 with a 67 that at least assured him of playing the weekend. He still was 11 shots behind.
Adam Scott was among those playing in the afternoon at Bay Hill.
