Ballesteros: Ryder Cup format needs a change

Seve Ballesteros says the Ryder Cup format should be stretched from three days to four.

Ballesteros says the wait from when players arrive Monday to when play begins Friday is ''sometimes very long ... you really want to play and start the competition.''

The 53-year-old Ballesteros, who was part of four Ryder Cup winning teams, is still recovering from surgeries performed in 2008 to remove a malignant tumor from his brain.

Ballesteros says he is ''mentally well, but physically I'm very tired'' after starting a new therapy program in December.
