5 tied for lead in PGA Professional

PHILADELPHIA (AP) Kyle Voska, Ben Polland, Austin Peters, Shawn Warren and Shane Zywiec each shot 4-under 68 on Sunday at The Philadelphia Cricket Club's rain-softened Militia Hill Course to share the first-round lead in the PGA Professional National Championship.

Voska, the 2008 PGA assistant champion from The Links Golf Course in Highlands Ranch, Colorado, ran in birdie putts of 25, 15, 10 and 30. Polland, the PGA assistant professional at Deepdale in Manhasset, New York, eagled the par-5 third hole after hitting a 5-iron from 203 yards to 5 feet.

Peters, a PGA head professional at Wood Ranch in Simi Valley, California, had six birdies and a pair of bogeys. Warren, a PGA assistant professional at Falmouth Country Club in Falmouth, Maine, earned a share of the lead with a birdie his last hole. Zywiec, a PGA teaching professional at Highlands Golf Course in Lincoln, Nebraska, birdied four of his final five holes.

Eighteen of the 20 players under par in the 312-player field opened at Militia Hill. Left-hander Rob Moss of Broadview Heights, Ohio, and Zack King of Antioch, California, led the way on the Wissahickon Course - the site of the final two rounds - at 1-under 69.

The low 20 scorers will earn spots in August in the PGA Championship at Whistling Straits in Kohler, Wisconsin.
