LONDON (AP) Cycling's governing body has agreed to push back the dates for next year's track world championships in London by one week to avoid a clash with the Six Nations rugby competition.
The initial dates scheduled were Feb. 24-28 but the event will now be held March 2-6.
The UCI said Tuesday that the move will ''ensure the best possible TV exposure to the event.'' It said that when discussions were held with broadcasters, ''it became apparent the initial dates clashed with the Six Nations rugby tournament.''
The competition will be held at the London Velodrome, the venue used at the 2012 London Olympics.
