WVU group offers vulgar T-shirt buyback program
A West Virginia student group has initiated a buyback program for the vulgar T-shirts Mountaineer fans adorned at a game earlier this season.
The Mountaineer Maniacs announced Wednesday they're offering $20 vouchers good toward the purchase of university-licensed apparel to fans who return the offensive shirts.
One of the shirts was shown on national television during the Sept. 4 WVU-Marshall game in Morgantown. Last week WVU athletic director Oliver Luck asked fans to help convince those wearing the vulgar shirts to ''reconsider their choice of attire.''
The exchange will be held Thursday and Friday on West Virginia's campus. Fans will be given the vouchers with no questions asked.
No. 16 West Virginia plays No. 2 LSU at home in a nationally-televised game Saturday night.
