WRs Dunkley, McRoy leave Florida, plan to transfer

Florida receivers Chris Dunkley and Javares McRoy are leaving the program.

Coach Will Muschamp says Dunkley and McRoy are planning to transfer. Muschamp made the announcement Friday, six days after the Gators completed spring practice.

Dunkley, a 6-foot-2, 172-pound freshman from Pahokee High School, did not play last season and was suspended during the spring for academic issues.

Dunkley says ''it's in my best interest to get a fresh start somewhere else.''

McRoy, a 5-foot-9, 159-pounder from Lakeland, enrolled in January. He wants to play with his brother, Ben, at Texas Tech.

McRoy says Muschamp ''has been very understanding and is giving me that opportunity.''
