WR Watkins sets Clemson record

Clemson freshman receiver Sammy Watkins set a school record for receiving yards in a season at the Atlantic Coast Conference championship game Saturday night.

Watkins has 27 yards on three catches, giving him 1,100 for the year and surpassing the mark of Aaron Kelly, who had 1,081 yards in 2007. Watkins picked up the record on a 13-yard reception in the second quarter.

This week, Watkins was named the ACC rookie of the year.
