Arizona's Juron Criner, the Pac-10's top receiver last season, missed Thursday night's game against No. 9 Oklahoma State after having his appendix removed earlier in the week.
A team spokesman said Thursday that Criner had an appendectomy on Monday and it's unclear when he'll be able to return. The Wildcats (1-0) play their next two games at home against No. 6 Stanford and No. 12 Oregon.
Criner ranked seventh in the nation last season with 94.9 yards receiving per game. He had 82 receptions for 1,233 yards and tied the school record with 11 touchdown catches last season.
Criner had six catches for 151 yards and a touchdown in Arizona's opening win over Northern Arizona last week.
