Cleveland Browns wide receivers coach George McDonald has been hired for the same job with the Miami Hurricanes.

McDonald coached the past two seasons for the Browns, who fired head coach Eric Mangini last week. McDonald has also spent nine years as a college assistant, including two at Minnesota.

He has recruiting ties in South Florida, the Northeast and California. McDonald joins the staff of new Hurricanes coach Al Golden, who announced the hiring Tuesday.
