With latest commit, Horns have one of nation's top 2016 WR classes

For a program moving to a more up-tempo, spread offense in 2015, the 2016 season could be the start of something very special.

Not only is heralded quarterback Shane Buechele headed to Texas, but Longhorns coach Charlie Strong now has a trio of highly touted wide receivers committed who could rival Baylor's new status as the Big 12's WR U.

In fact, Texas' newest commit, Tren'Davian Dickson, initially committed to the Bears before rethinking his decision and ultimately picking Texas.

Dickson certainly expects big things from himself at the next level, predicting via his Twitter account that he'll become Texas' next All-American.

And why not? Dickson, out of Navasota, Texas, has absolutely blistered high school foes. The 5-foot-11, 171-pound playmaker is rated the No. 2 wide receiver in Texas and No. 4 in the nation by Scout (he's ranked the No. 31 overall recruit in the nation). Dickson caught 89 passes for 2,136 yards and 39 touchdowns last year as a junior in leading his school to the Class 4A state championship.

In the title game, the self-professed playmaker was pretty good: 12 catches for 177 yards and four touchdowns. If you haven't seen his spectacular one-handed, Odell Beckham Jr.-like grab in that game, feast your eyes on the clip below.

According to Scout.com site Horns Digest, Dickson's 39 scores set a national record for scoring receptions in a season, breaking the previous mark of 34 by Kirby Moore of Prosser, Wash., in 2008.

With 4.38 speed, Dickson is an explosive talent and the third such receiver to commit to Texas' 2016 class along with Reggie Hemphill and Collin Johnson.

According to Horns Digest, Dickson held offers from top programs throughout the Big 12 and across the country including Alabama, USC, Michigan, Michigan Sate, Arizona State and Notre Dame.
