A bye week during football season is one of the hardest things to endure. It feels like everyone around you is talking about their team, the big game, but you’re stuck with nothing. Your built in excuse to miss something you dont want to attend is gone. You feel lost. Your burning passion for the Badgers is flickering a little less knowing they don’t suit up this Saturday. Its especially gloomy after a loss, all you want to do is watch the Badgers again. But hey, i’ve got a solution! Here’s a few ways to fill your void and keep up your Badger Fandom, and hopefully get you through this miserable bye week.

Basketball? Its football season! Yes, you’re right, but basketball is not far around the corner. The Wisconsin Men’s Basketball team tips off with the Red/White Scrimmage in eighteen days. Yes, its coming up quick. While Badger of Honor will have the best Basketball coverage and insight, it might be time to dust off your grateful red t shirt and give the basketball team a look. Wisconsin comes into the season with high expectations. With almost the entire team back, and Coach Gard now in his first full season the Badgers will look to get back to the Final Four this season. Coach Gard will host Shooting Down Cancer on October 10th, a charity fundraiser for cancer research, so if you are looking to get your Badger fix, this could be the way.

Get Some Ice Time

Its an exciting time for Wisconsin Badger Hockey as both the Men and Women have big things happening this week. The Men begin a new era of Wisconsin Hockey as the Tony Granato Era begins for the Badgers. After down seasons the past few years the Badgers turn the page to a new season and a new coach. The Badgers open at the Kohl Center against powerhouse Boston College on October 14th,so get out and check out this exciting time in Men’s Hockey. The Women’s hockey team is also underway, and they sit at number 1 in the rankings currently! They take on the Ohio State Buckeyes this weekend, so get out and check out the top team in the land against a Big Ten Rival.

Get Over to the Field House

Remember that place? Well it still holds one of the nation’s top teams. The Wisconsin Women’s Volleyball team sits at number two in the Nation, so its an exciting time for them as well! They sit at 12-1 on the young season and have played some very exciting volleyball so far this season. The Badgers sit behind Minnesota in the rankings, and in front of Nebraska, so the Big Ten is bound to be exciting for the remainder of the season. They host the Illinois Fighting Illini on Saturday night, so i’ve just found another opportunity to get your Badger Saturday going again.

Binge Watch College Football Like You Were Going to Do Anyway

If none of those options fill your void for Badger Football, just sit around and watch football like you would’ve probably ended up doing anyway. While you should get out and support other Badger sports, i’m assuming your sweatpants and football Saturday’s are something you’re just not willing to part with even on a bye week. If you’re lucky enough to get out of your obligations for the 6th Saturday in a row, there are still some quality match ups for you to check out. While it may not be the same as watching your beloved Badgers, there’s still some good football. To wet the beak of Saturday you’ve got the Red River Rivalry, Florida-LSU,  or Maryland traveling to Happy Valley. In the afternoon, get a scouting Report on the Buckeyes together as they take on Indiana or check out the Top Ten Match up between Tennessee and Texas A&M. If that doesn’t satisfy you enough check out FSU-Miami, or root against (or for) former Badger Coach Bret Bielema against top ranked Alabama. Either way, its football. Watch it.
