Why fourth in Big 12 is right where Sooners should be as spring ends
TCU is will be ranked in the top three when the preseason polls come out and is favorite to not only win the Big 12, but to land in the playoff as well.
Baylor isn't far behind.
So where does Oklahoma fit in the 2015 Big 12 picture? Coming out of spring, they can't be considered any better than fourth, behind Bedlam rival Oklahoma State, which at least has an exciting quarterback to bank its hopes on.
So fourth it is. That ranking comes from the Tulsa World staff, which put together a post-spring Big 12 power poll. Fourth certainly isn't a position the Sooners are accustomed to in the Big 12, but it does seem to be an accurate depiction of where the program is at this juncture.
It certainly didn't seem that way just a year ago when Oklahoma was coming off an impressive Sugar Bowl beating of Alabama and Trevor Knight appeared to be position himself as the starting quarterback for the foreseeable future.
That's all changed now. Knight doesn't know if he'll start another game, and the Sooners are in the rare position of being the hunter instead of the hunted in the Big 12.
