The Big 12 certainly isn't a conference known for its defense. The league features several spread offenses with quick drops and stout offensive lines, but West Virginia is doing its best to pressure the passer whenever possible.

The Mountaineers struggled to force pressure on teams like Baylor, TCU and Oklahoma State, but lately, they've been more successful in getting to the QB.

“We're always just trying to do our part on the field,” nose tackle Darrien Howard said. “If our part is to hold up linemen, then that's what we're going to do. But in the process, we're not just going to stand there. We're going to try to make plays, as well.”

In the past two games, West Virginia has vaulted from 85th in sacks per game to 42nd. They'll look to continue that trend against Kansas State.
