WATCH: Cougars get second fourth down after inadvertent whistle, results in TD

Washington State got a huge break on Saturday from the Pac-12 referees.

Trailing 14-3 in the second quarter to Arizona State in Pullman, the Cougars decided to try and convert a fourth-down in the red zone. Quarterback Luke Falk threw to his right and completed a pass to Gabe Marks. Marks was stopped short of the first-down marker; however, there was an inadvertent whistle from the refs.

The inadvertent whistle resulted in the Cougars being given a second chance at the fourth-down conversion. On their second attempt, Falk threw an 11-yard touchdown to Dom Williams to cut the lead to 14-10.
