Villanova with 35-28 win over Delaware

NEWARK, Del. (AP) John Robertson threw for 217 yards and three touchdowns, including the game-winner in the final seconds, to give Villanova a 35-28 win over Delaware on Saturday.

Robertson also led in rushing with 117 yards for the Wildcats (10-2, 7-1 Colonial Athletic Association). Kevin Monangai added 71 yards and two scores.

Monangai scored twice in the first quarter - on a 2-yard run and a 3-yard pass reception from Robertson - to give Villanova an early 13-0 lead. Robertson found Poppy Livers for a 42-yard score early in the second and the Wildcats led 20-7 at the break.

Delaware went ahead 28-27 late in the fourth on a scoring run by Jalen Randolph. But with just under 2 minutes to play, Robertson helmed a 68-yard drive culminating in a 21-yard touchdown pass to Kevin Gulyas for the win.

Trent Hurley threw for 212 yards and two touchdowns for the Fightin' Blue Hens (6-6, 4-4).
