VIDEO: Newest Mizzou commit has a boot, watch him kick 60-yard FG
The Missouri Tigers landed one of the top placekickers in the nation on Monday, as Tucker McCann gives his pledge to Mizzou following a visit to Columbia last week.
McCann also has a scholarship offer from Alabama, but after visiting the Tide over the weekend, his choice was the Tigers. The Illinois native prospect spoke to Show Me Mizzou following his decision.
“I called Coach Ford and I told him first,” McCann said. “Then he passed around the phone, and I talked to all the coaches. They were just really ecstatic! That was pretty cool! They were all just really excited to get me there.”
So what stood out to McCann during his visit to Columbia?
“When we visited Missouri on Wednesday, that really just sealed it for me and my family,” explained McCann. “They are all just really great people there. They really are a family, and they really mean it when they say that. And they really treated me and my family really good. I mean, they’re already a great program, and they’re getting some really great commits, you know, like Terry Beckner. It’s great to see that.”
McCann's should compete for kicking duties as soon as he arrives next season, as he clearly has the leg strength to compete at the SEC level.
