USC Players React To Adoree' Jackson Heisman Snub
When Adoree’ Jackson was not named among the Heisman Trophy finalists on Monday afternoon, USC players and others on Twitter were not pleased.
Adoree’ Jackson was left out of the Heisman Trophy ceremony, missing the cut of five finalists announced for the prestigious trophy on Monday.
Instead, Louisville’s Lamar Jackson, Oklahoma’s Baker Mayfield, Michigan’s Jabrill Peppers, Clemson’s Deshaun Watson and Oklahoma’s Dede Westbrook were selected as the finalists, sending the USC side of Twitter in a flurry.
Was the all-around star snubbed? The Trojans certainly think so.
For his part, Jackson indicated he wasn’t paying much attention to the announcement.

Later, he did seem to comment, vaguely, on the his mindset regarding the Heisman.
However, Jackson’s teammates JuJu Smith-Schuster, Darreus Rogers and Zach Banner didn’t hesitate to go to bat for him.

@AdoreeKnows numbers don’t lie! https://t.co/eQgoDVB7NC

It’s one thing about not giving @AdoreeKnows the Heisman, but you can’t argue the fact that he should be one of the 5 invited to New York

Antwaun Woods, now on the Tennessee Titans’ practice squad, was also one of the first players to speak up on Jackson’s behalf.
No way @AdoreeKnows shouldn’t be an HEISMAN Finalist

Even former USC commit Amari Rodgers, the son of Trojan offensive coordinator, couldn’t resist commenting on the snub.
Others unconnected to USC concurred, including Dez Bryant, Willie Pile, Dennis Dodd and others.
I disagree with that..this year of college 🏈 is loaded with talent..2 guys stick out from the rest Jabrill peppers & Action Jackson https://t.co/wImgcfq6CU

Adoree’ Jackson has better numbers than Charles Woodson had when he won the Heisman. pic.twitter.com/4ajWQItsD1

@theldssdl just feel Adoree is better than Cook. I think Cook and Adoree should be in NYC over Peppers and Watson

Jackson still has the chance to take home some more hardware this season as a finalist for the Thorpe and Hornung Awards. The announcement for the Hornung, as the nation’s top versatile player, will come on Wednesday while the Thorpe, for the country’s top defensive back, will be revealed on Saturday.
