USC once again a recruiting powerhouse

Published Jul. 14, 2015 1:11 p.m. ET

When USC nabbed four-star recruits Trevon Sidney and C.J. Pollard, the Trojans saw their national recruiting class ranking move up a few notches.

According to SB Nation, USC moved from No. 9 to No. 5 after Sidney and Pollard committed at The Opening in Oregon. But the Trojans still have a shot at No. 1. Peter Berkes at SB Nation breaks it down.

"They were already the top dog in the Pac-12 recruiting rankings, but with sanctions off their back and a full class possible this year, the Trojans have a real shot to end Alabama's five-year streak with the nation's best recruiting class. Their 2015 class came close, but finished just behind the Crimson Tide in the 247 Composite index."
