USC OL Chad Wheeler will not play in Holiday Bowl

USC offensive lineman Chad Wheeler will not play for the Trojans in the Holiday Bowl in San Diego on Dec. 30., according to head coach Clay Helton.

Helton told reporters on Sunday that Wheeler would not play after the lineman had an incident with police earlier in December. Wheeler was held under protective custody for a psychiatric evaluation after an altercation with police.

USC offensive lineman Zach Banner will take the role of left tackle for the Holiday Bowl. Banner had been playing right tackle for the Trojans this season.
