USC OL Chad Wheeler eyeing fall return
USC suffered a devastating blow to its offensive line last year after Chad Wheeler went down for the season after suffering a torn ACL early in the season.
The recovery process has been intense, but the hard work clearly is paying off.
Wheeler told ESPN's Johnny Curren that he's on track to be back in time for full contact drills when USC's fall camp opens in August. According to Curren, the 6-foot-7, 300-pound left tackle has been taking part in the offseason conditioning drills, but there's more good news.
"The redshirt junior says that team doctors have told him he's on pace to be cleared for full-contact drills during fall camp, which begins Aug. 8," Curren reports.
It's good news all around for Wheeler, the entire offensive line and, of course, Cody Kessler.
