USC football player charged with first-degree rape
Utah prosecutors have filed rape charges against a University of Southern California football player who is also under investigation for an alleged California sexual assault involving the same victim.
Charging documents say Utah authorities accuse Osa Masina of sexually assaulting a woman July 25 who was passed out in a Salt Lake City suburb.
Masina is charged with one count of rape and two counts of forcible sodomy.
Masina's attorney Greg Skordas did not immediately return a telephone message Thursday seeking comment on the charges.
Court documents show Masina and teammate Don Hill are also under investigation for an alleged sexual assault July 14 at an off-campus apartment in California.
USC suspended Masina and Hill on Tuesday.
The 19-year-old Masina is a Utah native who played at Brighton High School.
