USC enjoyed depth during summer workouts

Depth issues has been nothing new at USC. The Trojans have been battling a numbers game since they were hit hard with NCAA sanctions.
But USC is seeing a light at the end of the tunnel, and it's finally showing.
Johnny Curren at ESPN makes five observations from USC's summer throwing sessions and notes that depth once again is becoming a luxury for the Trojans.
"The sheer number of players who have been participating has been striking," Curren writes. "With 60-plus members of the team taking part in each volunteer throwing session, it's obvious there simply hasn't been this kind of depth at USC in quite some time."
On top of that, the Trojans again appear healthy, which also is boosting those numbers.
"One reason is the Trojans' recent recruiting haul, their first full signing class since 2011, but also playing a factor has been the return of several players from injury," Curren adds. "Key performers like Tre Madden, linebacker Anthony Sarao and defensive linemen Antwaun Woods, Greg Townsend Jr. and Kenny Bigelow have all fought back from injuries and are looking strong."
And that's probably why USC has so much hype heading into the 2015 season.
