UCLA Football: 11 Bruins Named to the All-Pac-12 Teams
The UCLA Football team had eleven players receive All-Pac-12 honors, with three named to the first team.
It was a down year for the UCLA Football team, but there were some bright spots, especially on an individual basis. Eleven of those brought spots were recognized as being some of the best in the conference as All-Pac-12 Teams were revealed on Monday.
Think about that, 11 UCLA Football players have been honored by the Pac-12. That is definitely something the Bruins can hang their hats on.
It is also no surprise that seven of them come from the defensive side of the ball. UCLA had a much improved group of players under second year Defensive Coordinator Tom Bradley, but there were also a few shinning stars on the offense as well despite the Bruins’ struggles.
Here is the list of Bruins by team selection:
First Team: LB Jayon Brown, DE Takkarist McKinley, C Scott Quessenberry
Second Team: TE Nate Iese, LT Conor McDermott, LB Kenny Young
Honorable Mention: WR Darren Andrews, DB Randall Goforth, CB Fabian Moreau, DT Eddie Vanderdoes, DB Jaleel Wadood
The Bruins may have had a disappointing year but throughout the season these 11 players made individual contributions to the team that not only helped carry UCLA, but also Pac-12.
The tough pill to swallow is that some of these players are seniors and you can guarantee that the Bruins are going to miss them next season.
#8Clap for Jayon, Scott, Takk, Conor, Kenny, & Nate on being named @pac12 1st & 2nd Team All-Conference. https://t.co/8lZWrn5eBc #GoBruins pic.twitter.com/pugSIPVAe4
