Two Arkansas Razorbacks On All-SEC Teams
The Coaches All-SEC Team’s rosters have been released today and include Arkansas’ Rawleigh Williams and Dan Skipper.
This year’s Coaches All-SEC Teams have a Razorback on both the first and second team’s roster. Representing the Hogs on the All-SEC First Team lineup is senior Dan Skipper. Rawleigh Williams made the Second team roster as well.
Skipper is one of two players to earn SEC Lineman of the Week not once but two times this season. Skipper is a three-time SEC Offensive Lineman of the week and was named to the All-SEC second team by Associated Press and league coaches. He is the 10th offensive lineman to be named to the coaches All-SEC first team in program history.
Where do I begin when discussing Rawleigh Williams making the second team? If you have followed my work, you know how amazed and happy I am for Williams after suffering such a serious injury. The story of Rawleigh Williams deserves a movie in my opinion.
Leading the SEC in rushing yards at 1,326 yards, Rawleigh has overcome such great adversity. Williams is the 13th running back in the history of the SEC to with the Leagues Offensive Player of the Week three times in a single season.
The third time he earned this was after the Mississippi State game that he ran for 205 yards which were a career high and had four touchdowns. Five if you include the one he threw for. he is the fourth player in Hog history to rush for 200 yards in a game.
If you don’t know Rawleigh’s story, read this piece by Kurt Voigt on wholehogsports.com. Another great piece on the severity of his injury is this piece from seccountry.com by Jason Kersey. Rawleigh Williams is incredible. In my opinion, he should have been on the first-team instead of second. He has done too much to be just a second team player. Woo pig!
