This isn't a good time

to be an NFL quarterback

The 2010 season might get pinpointed as the time when it no longer was safe, smart or cool to be an NFL quarterback. Consider:

*With 15 sacks in his last six quarters, Jay Cutler's brain might already be too scrambled to donate for concussion tests.

*Aaron Rodgers had a 300-yard game but still took five sacks one week after suffering a concussion and ran into a guy who looks like the Miami Dolphins' second coming of Jason Taylor. Unless the Green Bay Packers snap out of their funk, Rodgers will be guilty of not being who we thought he was.

*Brett Favre is going to have to answer whether he's a tasteless photographer.

*Ben Roethlisberger had a big first game back but knows the slightest bobble will ignite another round of wrath from Terry Bradshaw.

*There will never be a cloudless day for Michael Vick.

*Tony Romo should be glad Jerry Jones is promising he won't fire Wade Phillips. If he did, the attention would turn from the failing coach to the quarterback who's throwing late-game picks.

*And even Tom Brady is getting mocked by Justin Bieber for going with his Farrah Fawcett hairdo.-- Tom Weir

Forget polls and BCS;

tell us who is No. 1

You can believe the coaches.

You can believe the computers.

Or you can believe your eyes and tell us who is the best team in college football.

The coaches have it Oregon, Boise State, Oklahoma, TCU, Auburn, LSU, Alabama, Michigan State, Utah and Ohio State.

The computers spit it out this way: Oklahoma, Oregon, Boise State, Auburn, TCU, LSU, Michigan State, Alabama, Utah and Ohio State.

Not a huge difference, but enough to change the Bowl Championship Series title game if coaches picked the teams.

And Alabama and Ohio State still might be two of the best in the nation despite being seventh and 10th in the coaches poll and eighth and 10th in the BCS standings.

So we asked you: Who is your No. 1 college football team? Results through 5,968 votes:

Boise State 25%

Oregon 20%

Oklahoma 14%

Alabama or Ohio State 13%

Auburn 12%

Others 16%
