The Audible: Jim Donnan on fraud trial, why Florida is SEC sleeper

Jim Donnan's football credentials run long.

He won the Division I-AA national championship in 1992 as Marshall's head coach. He coached Georgia from 1996-2000, going 48-19 in five seasons and winning all four bowl games the Bulldogs appeared in.

In 2009, he was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame.

But unfortunately, Donnan has been in the news recently for much more serious matters. Donnan was recently on trial, accused of 41 counts of mail fraud, wire fraud, securities fraud, money laundering and conspiracy in connection to an alleged investment scheme. In May, the former coach was found not guilty on all charges.

Donnan recently joined The Audible With Bruce Feldman to discuss the anguish of his public trial and the experience of being vilified publicly.

The conversation then turned to football, and Donnan discussed Georgia's 2014 outlook, why he thinks Florida is a sleeper to win the SEC East, Florida State's national title potential over the next five years, the best player he ever recruited and more.
