Texas A&M, Adidas unveil unique all-black unis for Halloween game
After an excitement-building countdown on social media, Adidas released Friday the alternate uniforms Texas A&M will wear for its Halloween night game against South Carolina.
The "Aggie Nights" uniforms have an all-black, appropriate-for-Halloween look. According to an Adidas release, though, the helmets aren't entirely black; they feature a new reflective technology that will essentially have the A&M logo glowing under the Kyle Field lights, creating a unique visual for the 100,000-plus in attendance and many more viewers on TV.
Both the jersey and pants are highlighted with silver metallic numbers and stripes, and “Texas A&M” appears above the numbers on the front of the jersey in maroon but with the same carbon-fiber detailing. The cleats will stand out in contrasting white and also are specially detailed, with the school logo appearing in maroon on the instep.
While the all-black look has become somewhat standard for alternate uniforms over the past few years, this getup is anything but standard. For a Halloween night game, Texas A&M and Adidas have come up with some intimidating threads that should only add to what was already expected to be a wild atmosphere at Kyle Field.
