Tennessee QB commit recognized for his outstanding arm
While Tennessee lost a young quarterback to transfer Thursday, there's little reason for panic with 2016 quarterback commit Jarrett Guarantano pledged to the Volunteers latest recruiting class. Guarantano recently participated in the Under Armour All-American game and left quite the impression on at least one talent evaluator present during the week's practices.
The four-star quarterback prospect may have only completed one of his seven passes in the game for an 18-yard gain, however it wasn't his exhibition game performance that stood out, it was his arm in practice the week leading up to the game.
Guarantano's arm was so impressive, Rivals.com awarded the Tennessee commit with its Rocket Arm Award:
Guarantano may have had a rough game, but the ball flies out of his hand with ease and velocity and his arm is a whip. During the week he was clearly the best quarterback in accuracy, velocity and in dropping long passes into tight spaces. The pass rush was on him in seconds during the game and he had some bad moments, but he can sling it.
The Vols will have to wait until the summer to get Guarantano on campus, as he will most likely not be an early enrollee as originally planned, however it appears he will be worth the wait. Check out his highlight reel and see for yourself why Guarantano was invited to the Under Armour event:
