Authorities say a 14-year-old football player has died after collapsing during a practice at his high school in Anaheim.
Police Sgt. Bob Dunn tells the Orange County Register Thursday that Mitchell Cook collapsed while his freshman football team was warming up at the preseason practice at Canyon High School.
Coaches from different teams and the school's athletic trainer performed CPR until paramedics arrived, and after being taken to two different hospitals, Cook was pronounced dead Wednesday night.
The Orange County coroner says an autopsy would be performed to determine Cook's cause of death.
