TE Bryce Dixon returns to USC, but not to football team

LOS ANGELES — Former Southern California tight end Bryce Dixon isn't rejoining the football program despite his reinstatement as a student.

USC announced its decision Thursday night on Dixon, who was expelled in May after the school investigated two allegations of sexual misconduct against him. Dixon was cleared of misconduct around one of the two allegations.

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Robert H. O'Brien issued a written order Thursday reversing Dixon's expulsion.

The court ordered Dixon to be allowed to re-enroll at USC, but the school said it ''stands by its student disciplinary processes'' in keeping Dixon off the football team.

Dixon caught four touchdown passes as a freshman last season, playing in all 12 games. His attorney has expressed hope Dixon could rejoin the Trojans this season.
