Syracuse Football: They have found their No. 2 receiver

A huge question for Syracuse football was who was going to play opposite of Steve Ishmael. That question was quickly answered in the first game of the season for the Orange.
With Dino Babers entering the fold for the Syracuse football team, it was expected he’d bring his potent offense with him. The battle for the No. one receiver gig wasn’t up for debate with Steve Ishmael in the fold.
Throughout training camp the No. two receiver job remained up for grabs. Quickly in the season opener for the Orange, it became clear who was Syracuse’s second option on offense.
You better learn the name quick because Amba Etta-Tawo will be in the headlines more often than not. Well that’s the hope after Etta-Tawo’s magnificent performance in the Syracuse football opener Friday night against Colgate.
Here’s a little bit more information on the Maryland transfer. He comes in at 6’2 and 202 pounds and comes equipped with blazing speed.
He showcased that on the first touchdown of the #OrangeIsTheNewFast era. Although that wasn’t his lone highlight of the contest.

In the first half alone, Etta-Tawo had accumulated six receptions for 108 yards and the above 43-yard score. He finished the day with a record-breaking performance and would’ve broken it if he played all 60 minutes.
After the game coach Babers spoke with the media about Etta-Tawo’s stellar performance. “There was a lot of technique that he has worked on since he transferred here and you saw all of that in that one play on the sideline,” Babers said via his post game press conference.

While the Orange offense looked explosive and was rolling on all cylinders. Which is pretty amazing considering this is the first game in this Babers’ offense.
As a result, this Syracuse team’s confidence has to be through the roof heading into a prime time Friday night game against Louisville next week. While Syracuse finished the game with over 500 yards of offense.
“There was a lot of technique that he has worked on since he transferred here and you saw all of that in that one play on the sideline,” Babers said via his post game press conference.
