Syracuse Football: Amba Etta-Tawo wins ACC wide receiver of the week
Not only did the Syracuse football team start the season 1-0, but they also got some special recognition. At least one of the players from the victory did thanks to the ACC.
The Syracuse football team opened up the 2016 season with a bang, beating the Colgate Raiders 33-7. Not only did they get an important win, but one of their stars received some special recognition.
Amba Etta-Tawo in his first game in an Orange uniform dominated and entered himself into some elite company. With his performance he now ranks fifth all-time in single game receiving yardage with 210.

RECEIVER – Amba Etta-Tawo, Syracuse, Sr.-r., WR, 6-2, 202, Powder Springs, Ga.
Etta-Tawo caught a career-best 12 passes for 210 yards and one touchdown in his Syracuse debut to help the Orange defeat Colgate, 33-7, on Friday night. It was Etta-Tawo’s third career 100-yard receiving game and the sixth 200-yard receiving game in Syracuse history. His 210 yards rank fifth on the Orange single-game receiving yardage ledger. Etta-Tawo averaged 17.5 yards per catch, including a 43-yard TD reception on a pass from Eric Dungey in the first quarter for Syracuse’s first touchdown of the 2016 campaign. Etta-Tawo was one of two Orange receivers to post double-digit catches against the Raiders, the first time in team history two players caught 10 or more passes in the same game.
The Syracuse football team is lucky to have a grad-transfer with the elite speed that Etta-Tawo brings to the table. While his tools should help Syracuse this Friday night against the Louisville Cardinals, will that be enough?

For both teams the excitement of Week 1 has been tempered by the competition (Colgate and Charlotte). As a result, the real test is going to be in the Carrier Dome on Friday night.
Louisville has College Football Playoff aspirations, while the Syracuse football team is just trying to get to a bowl game. Hopefully though this won’t be the last time we see Etta-Tawo getting an ACC award this season.
