Steve Sarkisian not concerned his situation is becoming a distraction

USC opens the season next week, but nobody is talking about Arkansas State.

Instead, the focus has been on Steve Sarkisian and a drunken episode that's embarrassed a storied program. Michael Lev at The Orange County Register reports that "Sarkisian said he isn't concerned about his situation becoming a distraction."

And it's not just Sarkisian who agrees. Matt Leinart does, too.

"Speaking Thursday on a conference call previewing FOX's college football coverage, Leinart described Sarkisian's behavior at Salute to Troy as 'inappropriate' and 'unacceptable,'" Lev reports. "But said he's a 'great football coach' and the 'right guy' to lead the program."

Leinart also told the media that "If anything, it's definitely put a little more pressure on him to win sooner than later."
