Stephen F. Austin defeats Northwestern State 36-13

Jeremy Moses passed for 489 yards and three touchdowns as Stephen F. Austin claimed the Southland Conference title after a 36-13 victory against Northwestern State on Saturday.

Graylyn Crawford caught eight passes for 150 yards and a touchdown for the Lumberjacks (9-2, 7-1), and Cordell Roberson had eight receptions for 141 yards and a score.

Philip Harvey led Northwestern State (5-6, 4-3) with eight catches for 119 yards and a TD.

Moses completed 35 of 59 passes.

Stephen F. Austin, which earned its first outright Southland title since 1989 thanks to McNeese State's loss at Central Arkansas, received the conference's automatic FCS playoff berth. The Lumberjacks will learn their bracket placement when the 20-team postseason field is announced on Sunday morning.
