Since Will Muschamp has taken over the post as head coach of South Carolina, a trend has taken place via his recruiting.

Muschamp and his staff have seemingly targeted players with great positional versatility. This helps in the event of an injury, or simply when depth gets thin at a specific position.

The Gamecocks' latest pledge Dennis "D.J." Wonnum fits the bill in this capacity.

The 2016 recruit out of Georgia pledged to South Carolina on Sunday. He had previously been committed to both Iowa State and Indiana at certain times during the recruiting process.

At 6'4", 232 pounds, Wonnum can line up as a tight end, defensive end, and outside linebacker. This was echoed by his high school defensive coordinator Corey Johnson (via The State).

"He's a versatile kid with a very high IQ," said Johnson. "His long arms help him, his long body helps him. It gives him the ability to bulldoze, but those long arms swat passes."
