Source: Former WVU QB Clint Trickett to join East Mississippi CC staff
Clint Trickett, the former starting QB at West Virginia, will become the new quarterbacks coach at East Mississippi CC, a source told FOX Sports Tuesday.
Trickett, whose father Rick is the O-line coach at Florida State and whose older brother Travis is the offensive coordinator at FCS Samford, passed for almost 3,300 yards in 2014 while leading the Mountaineers to a bowl game.
Dana Holgorsen and other WVU staffers viewed the younger Trickett almost like another coach in the program last season due to his focus and understanding of the game.
Trickett, who began his college career with the Noles and graduated in three years at FSU, retired from football in December before the AutoZone Liberty Bowl and admitted that he had suffered five concussions over the previous 14 months.
"He is going to be a hell of a coach someday," said Holgorsen at the time.
