Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops believes quarterback Landry Jones will return for his senior season in 2012.
“My gut feeling is that he’ll stay,” Stoops told the Tulsa World during a telephone interview on Friday.
Stoops said he didn’t think Matt Barkley’s announcement Thursday that he will bypass the draft to stay at USC will affect Jones’ decision.
Stanford’s Andrew Luck is regarded as the overall No. 1 quarterback prospect. Baylor’s Robert Griffin III, Barkley and Jones were generally regarded as the next QBs likely to be taken if available for the 2012 NFL Draft.

“I don’t think that (Barkley’s decision) will matter,” Stoops said. “Landry’s not sitting there basing his decision off what they decide.”
