Shannon Sharpe torches Skip Bayless for whiffing on Alabama-LSU prediction

Last week Skip Bayless joined the growing number of national pundits to pick LSU to upset Alabama on Saturday.

Bayless proclaimed that LSU was extremely underrated and that Nick Saban and Alabama would overlook Ed Orgeron's squad during "Undisputed" on Friday.

"I'm going with the team being underrated and the running back being overlooked this week against St. Nick," Bayless said on the show alongside Shannon Sharpe. "I'm going to make a strong case that LSU will upset (Alabama) 20-19 and here's why. Leonard Fournette was shell-shocked last season. You think you're invincible last season and then you go to Tuscaloosa and get overwhelmed before you can take your first step in the backfield.

"It was humiliating to the core for this young man. He's a stud. He's had to stew and simmer about this for a long time and now he gets his shot in his backyard before 103,000 crazy people."

But just like the rest of the national media, Bayless was proven very wrong. Saban's squad shut down and shut out the Tigers with a 10-0 victory in Baton Rouge on Saturday.

And Sharpe would not let Bayless live it down. Check out the clip of Sharpe's passionate "I told you so" rant:

As Sharpe pointed out, LSU had been averaging over 500 yards and 40 points per game heading into the matchup with 'Bama, but the Tide held Fournette to 43 total yards. Ouch.

If there were any questions about 'Bama's dominance this season, Saturday's game certainly answered them.

Undisputed with Skip Bayless, Shannon Sharpe and Joy Taylor airs on FS1 weekdays at 9:30 a.m. ET.
